Placement information is taken mainly from the SSDA 903 returns, which from 2009 include provider and location codes for each placement. Version 7.5 of the Cost Calculator can import these codes and use them in its cost calculations. The model distinguishes provision of placements by public bodies from agency provision, and placements within the local authority area from those outside it.

Provider names and placement names can also be imported so that analyses relating to these can be obtained. Analyses by different locations are also available.
