Licence and Subscription

The licence

The user licence permits you to install and use as many copies of the Cost Calculator for Children’s Services as you require. When you purchase a licence, you receive:

The software, delivered on a CD containing:

  • The Cost Calculator
  • The Cost Calculator user guide

Installation support, comprising:

  •   ~On-site: a single visit, to include:
    • Installation advice: discussion with IT network personnel
    • Demonstration: a live demonstration of the Cost Calculator for managers and potential users
    • Data migration advice: how to use the customisable input mechanism to populate the Cost Calculator with the data on children you extract from your MIS system; interpretation of the reports of problems that are produced following standard data checks
    • Assistance with importing SSDA 903 data: Excel files submitted for the SSDA 903 return can be imported during the visit
    • Customise the Cost Calculator: set up a customisable cost sheet and customised placement types of your choice
    • Needs analysis: an examination of additional data required to populate the Cost Calculator and work required to extract it, for example, placement fees and allowances, also child offending data

 

  • ~Remote support: Support by e-mail for installation and implementation

Subscription, free first 12 months subscription for incremental updates to the product, documentation and support materials and user group support.

The annual subscription

The first 12 months is included as part of the Licence. Thereafter an annually renewable subscription entitles you to:

  • Incremental product upgrades which extend and improve the product and its interface and provide additional analyses and reports
  • Updated and additional support documentation, user guides, etc.
  • An e-mail users’ newsletter
  • Access to the CCfCS website and on-line user community
  • Attendance (free for up to two persons) at an annual users’ meeting

The present version of The Cost Calculator, enhanced by periodic upgrades, will be supported for at least a year from the purchase date. If a major new version is subsequently introduced, a new licence may be required. Existing users at that time will be offered an upgrade path at a discount price.

You can purchase additional consultancy support, remote or on-site; details and amounts of time are negotiable. Such support is available for:

  • Annual cost review

  • Customisation for local requirements

Rates are by negotiation.
