Project overview

Authorities across the North East Region of England collaborated between 2007 and 2009 to implement the Cost Calculator. This ‘field trial’ of the application uncovered some difficulties inherent in its introduction and also showed the potential strength and value in its use. Work undertaken has included

• customising unit costs
• comparing bottom-up costs calculated by the Cost Calculator with the expenditure figures in the PSSEX1 returns and reconciling any differences
