The demonstration and implementation versions are essentially the same in  the cost calculations they carry out and the reports that they offer, although some recent enhancements to the model are included only in the implementation version. The key difference between the two versions is that data other than the example data set that is supplied can only be used with the implementation version.  The facilities for importing data and customising unit costs and placement types can all be inspected in the demonstration version but they are not operational. It is only possible to import child and placement data and effect customisations with the implementation version.

The customisation facilities allow you to use data that are specific to your organisation and so obtain more accurate cost estimates. Customised placement types allow you to distinguish placements with a particular provider or with a specific placement name from other placements of the same type.

See the Custom Placement Types screen

In a customised unit cost table, rows for each customised placement type are inserted automatically and you can enter appropriate unit cost figures. The other unit costs in the table can also be edited.

The user identification system provided ensures that only designated users in an organisation can carry out data import and customisation tasks.
